Project Details

Cold-Storage Gas Monitoring — GAS TIGER 6000

This is the GAS TIGER 6000, configured to measure C2H4 (ethylene), O3 (ozone), O2 (oxygen), and CO2 (carbon dioxide) generated inside fruit and vegetable cold-storage rooms.

GAS TIGER 6000 cold-storage gas monitoring

It is fitted with the gas sensors that low-temperature storages need to monitor.

Ozone (O3) Monitoring

Ozone generators are used to suppress mold and viruses in storage rooms. However, O3 (ozone) is a gas that is very harmful to the human body, so care is required.

Ozone gas hazard

Ethylene (C2H4) Monitoring

C2H4 (ethylene) is generated as fruit such as apples and tomatoes ripen and decay, and it accelerates spoilage — making it one of the gases that must be managed. Because different produce responds to ethylene to different degrees, it should be measured and tracked regularly.

Ethylene gas measurement and management

Up to Six Sensors — Including Odor Gases

The GAS TIGER 6000 multi-gas instrument can be fitted with up to six sensors. In addition to the storage-room gases, sensors for odor sources such as NH3 (ammonia), H2S (hydrogen sulfide), and VOC (volatile organic compounds) can also be installed, allowing comprehensive gas-concentration measurement.

For gas and odor measurement in storage rooms, please consult a specialist before selecting equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1. Which gases are measured in cold-storage rooms?

C2H4 (ethylene), O3 (ozone), O2 (oxygen), and CO2 (carbon dioxide) generated in fruit and vegetable cold storage.

Q2. Why is ozone (O3) measured and managed?

Ozone generators are used to suppress mold and viruses, but O3 is very harmful to humans, so it must be measured and managed.

Q3. Why must ethylene (C2H4) be managed?

It is generated as fruit such as apples and tomatoes decay and accelerates spoilage. Since different produce responds differently, it should be measured and tracked regularly.

Q4. Can the GasTiger 6000 also measure odor gases?

It can be fitted with up to six sensors, so in addition to storage-room gases, sensors for odor sources such as NH3, H2S, and VOC can also be installed.
