Tiger2000 Toluene (C₇H₈) Portable Gas Detector
This delivery features a Tiger2000 portable gas detector fitted with a toluene (C₇H₈) sensor.
Health Risks of Toluene Exposure
Overexposure to toluene can cause gastrointestinal symptoms including abdominal pain and vomiting, and neurological effects including headaches, dizziness, and hallucinations. The sensor installed in this unit covers a measurement range of 0–50 ppm.
Tiger2000 Toluene Detector — Key Features
- Alarm setpoints are user-configurable. When measured concentration exceeds the threshold, the instrument triggers audible, visual, and vibrating alarms simultaneously.
- After approximately one minute of sensor warm-up, live measurement values are displayed.
- A rear belt/pocket clip allows the instrument to be worn on the body during fieldwork. The docking cradle supports simultaneous battery charging and data transfer to a PC.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. In which industrial environments does toluene typically occur?
Toluene is common in facilities handling paints, coatings, adhesives, printing inks, and organic chemical raw materials — including automotive coating shops, printing companies, and semiconductor/display manufacturing. Enclosed work areas carry the highest exposure risk.
Q2. What are the occupational exposure limits for toluene?
Under Korea's OSHA: TWA 50 ppm and STEL 150 ppm. The Tiger2000's 0–50 ppm range is designed to provide precise monitoring up to the TWA threshold, enabling early detection before concentrations reach regulatory limits.
Q3. Do all three alarm modes activate at the same time?
Yes. When the configured alarm threshold is exceeded, audible, visual (LED), and vibration alarms activate simultaneously. The vibration alarm ensures the hazard is perceived even in high-noise environments or when workers are wearing hearing protection.
Q4. What does data backup via the docking cradle involve?
When the Tiger2000 is placed in its charging dock, measurement data is transferred to a connected PC while the battery charges. This enables workplace monitoring records to be stored, analyzed, and used for periodic compliance reporting.
Q5. Can the Tiger2000 measure gases other than toluene?
Yes. The Tiger2000 supports a wide range of sensor options including THT, VOCs, H₂S, NH₃, CO₂, ClO₂, and others. Sensors are selected at time of order based on the gases present at the site.
