Installed Gases
Project Details
Hello, this is RS Korea. Today's post covers an additional installation of Wandi's fixed gas meter at a site where we had previously completed installation work.

This company first had installation work carried out in the first half of 2021. As a company that conducts research and production in clean rooms, this site has been featured on our blog several times for inspections and sensor replacements.

As with our previous visits, a fixed gas meter from Wandi (a brand specializing in gas measurement) and a data logger from Supmea (a brand specializing in water quality and data logging) were already installed and in use. Since a new clean room had been built, the customer requested an additional installation with the same specifications as before: FIX800 VOC, a custom-made preprocessor, and an R9600 data logger. Not every "clean room" is managed under the same conditions, but this facility's clean rooms carefully control differential pressure, fine dust, temperature, and humidity within their respective rooms to stay within regulation.
■ Purpose of installation
The FIX800 VOC 10ppm unit is installed in the clean room for the following reason: chemical cleaning is carried out periodically to clean the production process, and if residual gas from those VOC-series chemicals remains in the room, it can compromise worker safety and contaminate materials, leading to defective products. To manage and monitor those levels, the customer requested installation of a VOC meter.
■ Installed products
Since only one additional room required measurement, and real-time data management and alarms were needed, we configured the FIX800 VOC 10ppm fixed meter together with Supmea's R9600 data logger for data management.
■ Installation equipment

Today's installation equipment: various tools, a Refco tool bag, the SUPMEA R9600, and the custom preprocessor unit.

We changed into cleanroom suits ahead of installation.
■ Installation points

Today's installation covered two points. At the site manager's request, the meter was installed toward the back of the clean room, where VOC readings are highest, while the R9600 data logger was installed near the entrance. Power was supplied from a 220V outlet at the entrance data logger location, so no separate electrical work was required.
■ Installation

Each unit was mounted at its designated installation point.

Flexible GW waterproof corrugated conduit was used to route the wiring neatly.

After installing the FIX800 VOC unit with its preprocessor and the R9600 data logger with its warning light, we completed alarm testing, a test run, and product training to finish the job. Beyond simple product sales, RS Korea specializes in gas measurement equipment, offering in-house calibration, domestic repair (A/S), custom manufacturing, and installation work. Drawing on experience across a wide range of demonstrations, site surveys, deliveries, repairs, and installations, we provide 1:1 customized solutions for gas measurement environments.

Project summary
Purpose: Measuring residual VOC in a clean room and managing the data
Products: WANDI FIX800 / SUPMEA R9600
Gas and range: VOC (volatile organic compounds), 10ppm
Crew: 2 installers, approx. 4 hours
Notes: Additional fixed VOC meter and data logger installed in a newly built clean room; R9600 data logger placed at the entrance, FIX800 placed inside the clean room; wiring organized with GW waterproof corrugated conduit; power supplied easily via an existing 220V outlet.
This concludes our post on the FIX800 VOC 10ppm / SUPMEA R9600 installation. For any inquiries about installation, test runs, or on-site repairs, please feel free to contact RS Korea.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1. Why install a VOC meter specifically in a clean room?
A1. Periodic chemical cleaning of the production process can leave residual VOC-series gases in the room. Continuous VOC monitoring protects both worker safety and product quality, since leftover chemical residue can contaminate materials and cause defects.
Q2. Why pair the FIX800 with the SUPMEA R9600 data logger?
A2. The FIX800 handles real-time VOC measurement, while the R9600 logs that data continuously and can trigger alarms, giving the facility both live monitoring and a historical data record for compliance and trend analysis.
Q3. How is installation power supplied without major electrical work?
A3. Where an existing 220V outlet is available near the installation point, as it was at this site's entrance, both the meter and data logger can be powered directly, avoiding the need for separate electrical construction.
Q4. What is the measurement range of this installation?
A4. The FIX800 VOC unit installed here measures volatile organic compounds up to 10ppm, matching the sensitivity needed to catch residual cleaning-chemical gases in a clean room environment.
Q5. Does RS Korea only sell the equipment, or also support it afterward?
A5. RS Korea provides the full lifecycle: site survey, custom configuration, installation, in-house calibration, domestic repair (A/S), and ongoing support, all tailored to each site's specific gas measurement needs.
