Project Details

Hello. This is TEDDY from RS Korea's technical department. Today's post is about the on-site repair and calibration of the FIX 800 O2 installed in the electrical room of Goyang Gymnasium.

ㅣRepair products

This is the FIX800, an installation type measuring device from WANDI, a gas measuring instrument brand. Wandi FIX800 provides a total of four sensor slots, allowing installation of two or more complex gases. Among the 40 types of gases that can be installed on Fix 800, from single to dual sensors, up to 5 gases for safety purposes in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act are installed simultaneously, and the gas concentration measured in real time is displayed simultaneously.

You can check and manage measured values from outside by connecting to an electronic board or PLC using RS485 communication. ㅣProduct Installation Purpose / Environment The site where the relevant device is installed is located in the electrical room inside the gym. The temperature of the transformers installed in the electrical room is approximately 60 to 70 degrees, so the air conditioner or outdoor fan is operated to maintain the appropriate temperature. So, although it is not an enclosed area, workers are not present all the time and unless there is anything special, workers only enter for inspection once a week to a month. In addition, as the electrical room and fire extinguishing agent room are often adjacent to each other, they were installed to prevent suffocation accidents due to a decrease in O2 concentration due to CO2 gas leakage.

The device was operating normally, but the sensor lifespan was only about 3 to 4 months, so the sensor was replaced. [First installation blog] https://blog.naver.com/rs-korea1/222746125268● Repair and calibration

It was necessary to turn off the power and replace the sensor, but due to the nature of the site, it was not possible to turn off the power, so we proceeded immediately. When replacing a sensor with the power turned on, the value jumps a lot at the beginning of the replacement and then gradually goes down. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes.

After the sensor is replaced and the value stabilizes, calibration is performed using O2 18% calibration gas. The proofreading process is repeated 2-3 times. After checking the correctly indicated calibration value, it is completed after confirming that the atmospheric O2 concentration is normally indicated at about 21%. As errors occur in measured values as more than a year passes after installation and calibration, we recommend performing calibration on a yearly basis. If you do not know the gas generated in the gas measurement environment, or if you know the generated gas but cannot confirm the exact concentration, it is difficult to make a choice before purchasing. Through sufficient consultation with experts, environmental factors, The way to be safe is to purchase a gas meter with an accurate measurement range, considering everything such as generated gas, frequency, and concentration. In addition to simple product sales, RS Korea is a gas-specialized company that provides self-calibration / domestic repair (A/S) / production / delivery / installation work. We provide 1:1 customized solutions for gas measurement environments based on our experience conducting demonstration / inspection / delivery / repair / installation work in various environments.

Repair items: FIX 800 O2 sensor replacement and calibration Other matters: There was no problem with the measurement, but it was installed in May 2022, so the sensor life is only about 3 months left, so we conclude the FIX 800 O2 sensor replacement and calibration blog due to the error in calibration after sensor replacement. In addition, if you have any questions about measuring various environmental factors such as gas meter, gas analyzer, measurement environment, installation/inspection inquiry, please contact us below.
