FIX5000 Multi-Parameter Environmental Analyzer + Fine Dust Sensor — Exhaust Gas and Air Quality Monitoring for a Pet Crematorium (Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do)

Today's installation came about as a result of an earlier blog post we shared. This case involves installing environmental monitoring equipment at a pet crematorium in Namyangju, after we received an inquiry from another company in the same industry.

The site is a pet crematorium called "21GRAM," located in Namyangju. The name references a 1907 experiment by a physician who hypothesized that the soul might have a measurable weight — calculated as the difference between a person's weight just before and just after death — reportedly concluding that a soul weighs 21 grams. There is, of course, no scientific basis for this, but it lends the company name a certain poignancy in the context of caring for a pet's remains after cremation.

Although the exterior looks understated in this photo, the facility itself is actually a bright, café-like, welcoming space. After a brief meeting in the office, the team proceeded to inspect the site. 21GRAM also operates similar facilities in Gwangju and Cheonan-Asan, Gyeonggi-do, and it appears that the inquiry came specifically from the Namyangju location due to local municipal ordinances.

This is the incinerator located behind the lobby. The team checked for a flat area suitable for a free-standing installation, as well as a suitable route for running a wired connection to the status display. After the site survey, the details were finalized and the team returned to the office to proceed with planning.

As is often the case with cremation facilities, this type of site can face significant opposition from nearby residents. With that context in mind, the equipment selected for this installation was the FIX-5000, a fixed multi-parameter environmental analyzer capable of measuring both gas concentrations and ambient air conditions simultaneously. With six gas sensor slots and six environmental sensor slots, the FIX-5000 allows users to select and simultaneously measure a combination of gases along with parameters such as fine dust, temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, illuminance, atmospheric pressure, and rainfall.

Based on drawings provided by the facility, the team planned and shared the construction schedule. Because the equipment had already been pre-ordered ahead of the meeting, the project was able to proceed quickly.

A fence had been installed since the initial site survey, but it did not pose an obstacle to the installation work. Since the required cable length had already been determined in advance, the wiring work was carried out on a flat section of the site, with a junction box installed to branch the 220V power supply to both the detector and the status display.

Because this area is also used as a walkway for staff, the cable line was secured in a way that would not create a tripping hazard. Using existing infrastructure such as piping made the routing work easier.

Anchors were installed at the designated location, a free-standing pole was erected, and the unit was mounted on top. A weather shelter for the fine dust sensor was installed at the top of the assembly to complete the setup, and a commissioning test was carried out as well.

Next was the status display installation. Since exterior terrace construction was planned for the site, the customer requested a display that could later be relocated — something our team has handled before, so a solution was readily available.

A triangular stand matching the mounting bracket for the status display was assembled and leveled. This is a different type of unit from the FIX-DS model that has appeared frequently in our previous installation posts.

As shown in the photo, this is the FIX-I, a multifunction monitoring status display that can present a customizable slideshow of measured values along with additional informational text. Depending on the configuration, it supports up to 64 channels of data and a 64-page slideshow, and its full-color display can present a wide range of information beyond just the measured readings.
