Project Details
Hello. This project used a portable GasTiger 2000 to monitor carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) inside a road tunnel.

Tunnel air-quality reference limits: carbon monoxide (CO) below about 70 ppm and nitrogen oxides (NOx) below about 20 ppm.
Measured results (Seoul road tunnel): CO 4.7–7.6 ppm and NOx 0.4–2.4 ppm — both within the reference limits.


Tunnel air-quality management matters: colorless, odorless toxic gases can affect drivers without warning, especially in long tunnels or after an incident — this should never be taken lightly.
The supplied unit was a GasTiger 2000 with a 0–100 ppm CO channel, paired with a condensation trap to limit the effect of moisture inside the tunnel. The measurement range was selected to align with the Korea Expressway Corporation Road Traffic Research Institute's tunnel air-quality reference of 0–70 ppm.

We hope this trial supports a permanently installed FIX800 unit along the tunnel roadside in the future.
