FIX800 HFC-125 Clean Agent Suppression Room Gas Detector Installation (Incheon)

Today's post covers a gas detector installation case for an HFC-125 clean-agent fire suppression room confined space. HFC-125 clean-agent extinguishing systems cost more to build and operate than CO2 suppression systems, but they are widely used because they offer many advantages over other extinguishing agents.

The advantages of HFC-125 clean extinguishing gas are as follows:

- Very low ozone depletion potential (ODP)

- Very low global warming potential (GWP)

- No electrical conductivity, so it can be used safely in facilities with a lot of electronic equipment

- Fast suppression action that minimizes fire damage

The equipment installed in the HFC suppression agent room is a FIX800 HFC & CO2 gas detector together with a FIX DS gas status display board.

An alarm is triggered when the HFC gas concentration reaches 250 ppm or higher, or when the oxygen (O2) level drops to 18.5% or below.

A gas status display board was installed beside the entrance so that supervisors can check the internal condition before entering, and the FIX DS display board also triggers its own alarm.

FIX800 clean-agent gas detector installation complete. A reactivity test is carried out using refrigerant gas and standard calibration gas before the work is finalized.
