Installed Gases
Project Details
This article covers CO2 gas detectors and a gas concentration status board installed in a protected area. A protected area is a zone where fire-detection equipment normally monitors and controls for fire, and where suppression equipment activates to extinguish a fire when one occurs. For worker safety when working inside a protected area, installing oxygen or CO2 detection and alarm equipment is essential.

CO2 gas detector installation
This site had CO2 gas detectors installed throughout the electrical room, UPS room, generator room, oil tank room, and clean-agent storage room, all of which are designated as protected areas, and an integrated monitoring status board was also installed at the central control room so that gas leaks can be detected across all of these areas.

Electrical room CO2 status board installation
A gas status board was installed so that workers stationed in the control room can check the CO2 level inside the electrical room. The alarm activates when the CO2 concentration reaches 1.5% VOL or higher!

CO2 gas concentration display
A gas concentration monitoring display was also installed at the main entrance to the electrical room.

Generator room gas concentration detector installation
The wiring for the gas leak detector inside the generator room was finished neatly using steel conduit. This site was quite challenging, as the total cable run exceeded 200 m.

FIX800 CO2 detector
Ready for commissioning after installing the FIX800 CO2 gas detector! Since CO2 gas is denser than air, it is installed at a height within 50 cm from the floor.

Generator room protected-area gas detector installation
A FIX-DS gas status board was installed above the entrance to the generator room, and thanks to its high-performance LED module, visibility is excellent even from a distance.

Protected-area CO2 concentration leak management status board
An integrated monitoring status board was installed at the central control room to monitor the CO2 gas concentration inside the electrical room, clean-agent storage room, generator room, oil tank room, and UPS room, all of which are designated CO2 protected areas.

Electrical room gas concentration detector commissioning
After installation was completed, a response test and commissioning were carried out using standard gas. We explained how to operate the gas detectors and their maintenance requirements, completing this challenging installation project.

CO2 clean-agent room gas detector installation
Regular follow-up visits are made after installation to support maintenance of the gas detectors and status boards. If you have any questions about installing CO2 gas detectors, please feel free to reach out anytime!
