Silo grain warehouse underground monitoring — four-gas FIX800 — VPE Korea

VPE Korea installed a four-gas FIX800 and LED board in a silo basement. Equipment inquiries: 02-2088-7334.

Silo basements are extremely dusty; grain fines covered the floor, complicating installation.

LED at grade entrance; detector roughly three basement levels down (~50 m cable run), so we prioritized cable pulls early in the shift.

LED placement—alarm setpoints (O₂, H₂S, CO, combustibles) aligned with owner EH&S policy.

Descending through noise and dust—technicians completed the four-gas installation despite difficult ergonomics.

FIX800 four-gas commissioning—final bump test and beacon check.

RS-485 links detector to LED without analog noise issues, even over long homerun distances.

The customer requested web monitoring, but Ethernet/Wi-Fi was unavailable—VPE Korea proposed a cost-effective alternative architecture.

FIX-AP web gateway—when cabling allows, we integrate economical cloud dashboards.

Cloud view—supervisors can read live values on PC or smartphone when FIX-AP is deployed.
