Our team visited a golf course in Jeju for an ultrasonic flowmeter inspection and the installation of a new confined-space gas detector, along with related equipment training.

A golf course in Jeju — good weather and scenery make for productive fieldwork, but every safety step still has to be followed.

Installed ultrasonic flowmeter. The first task was to inspect the existing installed-type ultrasonic flowmeter and run a side-by-side comparison against a reference instrument. The 350A pipe type and the portable flowmeter's mounting position were confirmed.

On-site calibration. Because the stainless steel band was too short, the transducer was temporarily secured with a cable tie instead — the transducer must stay firmly fixed in place throughout measurement, so it was mounted as tightly as possible.

Portable ultrasonic flowmeter. A KOLAS-calibrated UlsoFlow 309s portable ultrasonic flowmeter was used. Signal strength and mounting condition (TOM/TOS) were both excellent.

Since the pumps had all recently been replaced, a recalibration of the installed flowmeter against the reference instrument was considered if needed — but both readings matched closely, so no recalibration was required and the inspection was completed.

Asphyxiation-risk spaces can exist anywhere — caution is always required.

Asphyxiation-risk locations. Even leisure facilities that we visit for recreation can contain locations where safety accidents may occur. A gas monitoring display board and detector were installed at the underground confined-space location.

Confined-space gas detector installation at a leisure facility. After installation was completed, training was also provided on operating the gas detector and the portable M2000 particulate matter monitor.
