Busan Intercity Bus Terminal
Project Details
Why Reservoir Tank Safety Management Matters
- Intercity bus terminals are public facilities with many operating systems, and safety management of unseen spaces is just as essential
- Reservoir tanks, sumps, and water tanks carry a risk of oxygen deficiency and hydrogen sulfide buildup when ventilation is inadequate
- Confined-space standard: oxygen must be maintained at 18–23.5%, hydrogen sulfide below 10 ppm
Oxygen Deficiency Risk
- Oxygen can be consumed inside an enclosed reservoir tank
- Symptoms: dizziness, headache → loss of consciousness → death by asphyxiation
- Accidents can occur within a short time → measurement-based judgment is essential
Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Risk
- Smells like rotten eggs, but the sense of smell is deadened at high concentrations
- A toxic gas that can cause respiratory irritation, loss of consciousness, and death
- Judgment must be based on concentration (ppm), not odor
FIX800 Gas Detector
- Continuously measures oxygen (O2) and hydrogen sulfide (H2S)
- Installed at key locations around the reservoir tank for immediate hazard verification
- Enables data-driven safety management rather than reliance on experience
FIX-DS Gas Concentration Display Board
- Measured gas concentrations can be checked directly on site
- Outdoor waterproof design suited to the reservoir tank's surrounding environment
- Workers and supervisors can share the same information

- Reservoir tank safety management needs to shift from occasional inspection to continuous monitoring
- Oxygen deficiency and hydrogen sulfide cannot be judged by sight or smell
- The FIX800 + FIX-DS system enables hazards to be detected in advance, preventing accidents
TS Korea installed a FIX800 gas detector and FIX-DS gas concentration display board for O2/H2S two-gas monitoring at this reservoir tank. The display board is fully waterproof and continues to operate reliably in rain and wind.
Installation is available nationwide.
