FIX800 Fixed Oxygen (O2) Detector with Custom SUS Pre-Treatment Unit — Wastewater Storage Tank (Siheung, Gyeonggi-do)

Hello, this is our team at RS Korea.

Today we visited a public institution in Siheung after receiving an inquiry about installing an oxygen concentration detector inside a wastewater storage tank at their wastewater treatment facility.

Purpose of Installation

The goal was to measure the oxygen concentration inside the tank — which resembles the structure of a vinyl greenhouse — before cleaning work begins inside, for the safety of workers entering this confined space.

Installed Item

Given the characteristics of the environment, we built a custom pre-treatment unit using a stainless steel (SUS) enclosure with basic moisture removal.

The product used is the FIX800, a fixed-type gas detector.

Installation Process

The work proceeded in the following order: anchoring the pipe support for the pre-treatment unit; fixing the base of the SUS enclosure; mounting the enclosure alongside the pipe; connecting power from the nearby automatic control unit; and connecting the SUS sampling pipe into the storage tank.

The lower pipe was connected to draw the power line from the adjacent automatic control equipment.

With the enclosure mounted, we connected the SUS sampling pipe to measure the oxygen concentration inside the wastewater storage tank.

A laser level was used to ensure everything was properly aligned.

To prevent the thin stainless steel pipe from being accidentally crushed if a worker were to step on it, we reinforced it with a channel bracket and thicker steel piping for double protection.

This process was repeated six times, completing six sections of steel piping work.

After installation, we explained the pre-treatment process and calibration schedule to the facility manager, cleaned up the work area, and completed the project.
