FIX800 Fixed-Type Gas Detector Installation — Diesel Storage Tank Leak Detection, Changwon (Part 1)

Hello. This is our team. We visited a site after receiving an inquiry about installing a fixed-type gas detector at a diesel storage tank, for the purpose of detecting any potential gas leaks.

Reason for Installation: Diesel storage tanks can release irritant, corrosive, or toxic gases, and any leaked flammable gas can create an explosion risk, which is why the customer requested a gas detector installation. Since flammable gas carries an explosion risk from even a small spark, the work was carried out as an explosion-proof installation. In short: the gas detector was installed to protect against explosion risk and keep workers safe.

Equipment Overview: A WANDI FIX800 fixed-type multi-gas detector was used for this installation.

The FIX800, paired with an electronic display board and supporting roughly 40 different sensor types, is used across a wide range of settings including industrial safety, universities, research labs, and leak testing.

Materials Installed: Two sets of the FIX800 oxygen (O2) detector model, along with two sets of a single-channel O2 electronic display board — a total of two complete FIX800-plus-display-board installations.

Installation: The display board is installed near the entrance, in a highly visible spot so workers can check it before entering the work area. Positioning the display board first makes it easier to route the power and communication lines to the FIX800 detector.

Once the gas detector and display board were properly connected, the power was switched on.

After every installation, we always run a quick demonstration — showing how quickly the unit responds to something as simple as a breath test, and how loud the alarm sounds — and this installation was completed the same way.

The customer was very satisfied with this installation and asked us to carry out additional work in the same building's fire-suppression agent room and protected area. The clean, quick response of the gas detector and display board to a simple breath test left a strong impression, leading to the next installation being scheduled as well.
