Hello. This is our team. Since launching our wireless IoT monitoring hardware, we have been receiving a growing number of inquiries about level meters as well. Today's case covers a level meter and wireless monitoring installation at a chemical storage tank in Gwacheon.

Reason for Installation: The tank already had a basic analog level gauge mounted on its side, but the customer wanted an alarm that would trigger through wireless monitoring whenever the level exceeded a configured threshold, so the control room and managers could respond quickly. This also removes the inconvenience for chemical-management staff of having to travel down to the basement at set intervals just to check the level manually.

Customer Requirements: The tank is about 5 meters tall — could a system be installed? The customer had also seen our wireless-data blog posts and asked whether the same setup could be installed here. They also wanted a beacon light added outside so managers could see the status immediately from outside, and an indicator so that a manager working in the basement would not need to climb up to the top of the tank just to check the reading. A site survey was carried out first to confirm all of these points.

Equipment Installed: A SUPMEA 80GHz radar level/distance meter (WSR550), a SUPMEA SUP2100 digital indicator compatible with a variety of sensors, and FIX-AP wireless IoT communication hardware. The site itself was clean and posed no issues for the physical installation.

The FIX-AP wireless monitoring unit first searches for a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network; if that band is not available, additional configuration steps are needed, so this is always the first thing checked on site. We also learned during this installation that Wi-Fi network visibility can vary between different phone models — a network that did not appear on one phone was visible on another — which is a detail worth paying closer attention to during future site surveys.

Although the on-site Wi-Fi network names had been changed from their defaults, the customer's team was quick to check and identify the correct 2.4GHz network, so the wireless monitoring setup was completed without issue, and the rest of the installation proceeded smoothly.

The wireless monitoring connection to the cloud server was tested and confirmed. Once everything was verified, the facility manager was given a walkthrough of the cloud server dashboard before the work was completed.
