FIX800 Oxygen Detector Installation at a Water Treatment Research Laboratory

Hello. Today's visit was to a research laboratory. The facility runs a process that uses chemical agents to purify contaminated water for reuse, and some of the chemicals used include gases, so we installed a gas detector in the chemical gas storage room.

Why This Installation Was Needed

First, the gas cylinder storage room is an enclosed space, and if a gas leak occurred, a worker entering to inspect the room could be exposed to the gas. The detector was installed to prevent this risk.

Second, a leak from a gas cylinder could disrupt ongoing research tests and create other complications, so the detector also serves as a preventive measure.

Equipment Installed

A FIX800 single-gas oxygen detector was installed together with an external LED display board.

This is the WANDI FIX800 fixed-type gas detector. Beyond the single-gas oxygen version, a multi-gas configuration is also available — if additional gases beyond oxygen need to be monitored, we can confirm which combinations are possible on request.

Installation Environment

Environment: enclosed gas cylinder storage room.
Gas monitored: O2 (oxygen), sensor range 0-30% vol.
Installation: the gas detector was installed inside the gas cylinder storage room, and the display board was installed outside the entrance, so staff can check the internal oxygen concentration on the display before entering.

The ceilings inside the research facility were finished with gypsum board, which made the installation both straightforward and clean.

With this, the installation was complete.

After installation, we walked the facility's staff through the remote control operation and the manual, and finished with an alarm test on both the detector and the display board. The result was a clean, tidy installation for oxygen concentration monitoring in the gas storage room.
