Wastewater Tank Level Meter, Indicator, and Wireless Monitoring Installation – MP + SUP-1100 + FIX-AP

Even though this system hasn't been officially promoted yet, we're seeing growing demand for wireless monitoring of environmental measurement instruments. Alongside gas detectors, we have been working to bring various environmental measurement devices under unified monitoring, and this time that effort extended to a water level measurement system for installation and commissioning.

The site visited for this project is a cosmetics manufacturer located in Incheon. The facility needed to measure the level of a wastewater tank generated during the manufacturing process.

Previously, tank level was checked manually at set times each day using an analog manometer mounted on the side of the tank. This was not only inconvenient but also prone to inaccurate readings caused by contamination. This installation resolved both issues at once by digitizing the measurement, adding a local display, and enabling convenient monitoring from the office.

Three products were installed on this visit:

Ultrasonic level meter MP

Analog signal indicator SUP-1100

Wireless IoT communication hardware FIX-AP

Because the system relies on web-based monitoring, the installation itself was simplified. The measurement point had already been prepared based on prior consultation, and since mobile signal reception was poor on site, LAN cabling had been run in advance. The indicator and FIX-AP were connected together inside a custom-fabricated enclosure and mounted on the wall.

While the wiring was being completed on site, the online setup was configured in parallel.

FIX-AP can also be configured through a mobile app, but for this installation a laptop was connected via a dedicated cable, and the setup was completed with just a few clicks.

Before applying main power, a signal generator was connected to check the online status between the indicator and the system. The injected current signal was confirmed to display accurately, and reception in the cloud was verified to be normal. With the display integrated into the enclosure, users can check tank level status conveniently without having to climb up to the tank.

After powering on the system, the site was tidied up. Since the installation is LAN-based, unnecessary RF/Wi-Fi antennas were removed for a clean finish, and both level measurement and data logging are operating normally.

To summarize this installation:

1. Installed an ultrasonic level meter on an existing wastewater tank that had previously been monitored with an analog level gauge.

2. Installed a local indicator so the measured level can be checked on site.

3. Installed FIX-AP for convenient online monitoring of the measured level from the office.

4. Simplified installation labor and materials through wireless commissioning.

5. Reduced the inconvenience of having to visit the site regularly just to check tank levels.
