Project Details

This is an installation case for the FIX800 oxygen (O₂) detector in a fire suppression agent room. The installation site was a fire suppression room — a confined space filled with gas cylinders that discharge agent in the event of a fire. CO₂ is one of the most commonly used suppression agents in such rooms.

The FIX800 was installed as a safety measure to monitor for potential gas leaks.

An oxygen sensor was selected because any suppression agent discharge causes a significant drop in oxygen concentration. Real-time O₂ monitoring allows both on-site personnel and workers entering from outside to quickly determine whether it is safe to enter the space.

Due to frequent movement of equipment and workers in the area, a protective steel enclosure was used to safeguard the detector from physical impact. During commissioning, oxygen concentration was confirmed at the normal level of 20.9%.

If a gas leak occurs, the detector responds in real time and triggers an alarm when oxygen drops below the configured threshold, prompting immediate ventilation response.

A key advantage of the FIX800 is its communication capability. Using RS-485, 4–20 mA, or relay outputs, the detector can be integrated into a wider monitoring system beyond the unit itself.

LED display boards connected via communication signals were installed both inside and outside the facility, allowing workers to check oxygen concentration immediately from any location and respond accordingly.

This concludes the FIX800 oxygen monitoring system installation case for a fire suppression agent room.
