FIX800 Fixed Oxygen (O₂) Detector with LED Display Board — Changwon, Gyeongnam
This article features a FIX800 fixed oxygen (O₂) gas detector delivered to a facility in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do.
Powering On — Status LED Check
With power applied, the green WORK LED illuminates at the top of the unit, indicating normal operation. This detector is configured as an oxygen (O₂) monitor. The center of the display shows the live O₂ reading, with MAX and MIN recorded values at the bottom.
Alarm Activation
When the measured concentration exceeds the configured alarm threshold, the red ALARM LED activates and the numeric reading on the display turns red — providing clear immediate indication of an abnormal condition.
Option — LED Display Board
When the LED display board option is selected, the detector and board ship pre-connected and configured — ready for installation without additional wiring setup.
At this customer's request, the display board was custom-produced with the label "Confined-Space Oxygen Concentration." Live oxygen readings are mirrored on the display in real time, making concentrations clearly visible at a distance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. What do the FIX800 front-panel LEDs indicate?
The green WORK LED confirms normal operation. The red ALARM LED activates when a measured value exceeds the configured alarm threshold — at the same time, the numeric reading on the display turns red. If a beacon lamp is connected, audible and visual alarms also activate simultaneously.
Q2. Can the display board text be customized?
Yes. As shown in this case, the board was produced with custom text to match the measurement gas and application. Text such as "Confined-Space Oxygen Concentration" or "Gas Concentration Status" can be specified at time of order.
Q3. How does the display board connect to the FIX800?
The board receives the FIX800's RS-485 or analog output signal to display live readings. When the display board option is selected at order, the detector and board are pre-wired and configured before shipment — no additional on-site wiring is needed.
Q4. Does an oxygen-only detector satisfy confined-space safety requirements?
In environments where oxygen displacement by inert gases is the sole hazard, an O₂-only configuration provides a basic safety baseline. However, in spaces where toxic gases such as H₂S may also be present, a multi-gas sensor configuration is recommended. A site-specific assessment with a specialist is advisable before finalizing the configuration.
Q5. How is the reading checked when operating FIX800 without a display board?
The FIX800's built-in LCD displays live readings directly. Where the instrument is mounted out of easy viewing distance or in a location difficult to approach safely, adding a remote display board at the entrance improves convenience and pre-entry safety verification.
