Power Plant Site Inspection

As plant safety equipment, these instruments are often used to measure gas in harsh conditions. This unit was in use at a power plant site, where dust had heavily accumulated around the inlet.

The O2 (oxygen) reading was below the 20.9% ambient reference, and while CO (carbon monoxide) registered around 1 ppm, the value dropped back to 0 ppm within a few seconds.

Span-Gas Calibration

Certified span gas is used to calibrate readings accurately.

For confined-space safety, measuring the four gases against the span-gas reference concentrations is essential.

Ex (Combustible Gas) LEL Reading

For Ex (combustible gas), the GasTiger 2000 displays values in %LEL. Since methane's (CH4) lower explosive limit of 5% vol is set as 100% LEL, a reading of 50% LEL is the correct value when using the methane span blend.

This shows the GasTiger 2000 sampling in normal ambient air.
