Fixed Gas Detector Installation at a Department Store Water Tank Room — Nationwide

Hello.

Today we'd like to share an installation case for fixed-type gas detectors installed in a water tank room and a fire suppression agent room inside a department store.

The equipment installed is the FIX800 fixed-type gas detector.

First, here is the installation case in the water tank room.

Unlike the typical wall-mounted installation method, we built an enclosure and mounted the unit inside it. The user requested that the equipment be extended to a desired location so it could be used like a portable detector, so we proceeded as shown above.

The gas measured at this location is oxygen concentration.

This water tank room is classified as a confined space, so for worker safety we configured the multi-gas detector with 4 gases: oxygen (O2), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), and combustible gas (LEL).

The advantage of this equipment is that you can select the gases you need and measure them together.

The photo above shows the display board installed outside the site. It shows the concentration readings from the detector inside the site in real time.

Also, if a dangerous concentration is detected, alarms sound both inside and outside the site.

Next, the site where we installed equipment is the fire suppression agent room.

If the extinguishing agent leaks, the oxygen concentration drops significantly, and a drop in oxygen concentration can cause suffocation, so real-time concentration measurement and management on site is necessary.

As you can see on the detector's screen, real-time concentration can be checked on site, and if a dangerous concentration is reached, the alarm next to it sounds to alert of the danger.

This site is an explosion-proof area, so per the user's request, we used steel pipe for the installation.

Also, the display board outside allows the concentration inside the site to be checked from outside as well, and it likewise sounds an alarm when a dangerous concentration is reached.
