FIX800 Multi-Gas Detector Installation — Cleanroom (O₂ / CO / H₂S / LEL)

Project Details

This installation was carried out in a cleanroom. Cleanrooms are maintained under negative pressure to prevent external dust from entering — air flows outward so that particles cannot infiltrate the space. To further prevent contamination, cleanrooms use a double-entry structure with an air shower anteroom that must be passed through before entering the main space. The cleanroom is completely sealed from the outside environment.

Cleanrooms are used for a wide range of experiments and research involving gases and chemical substances. Gas monitoring in such environments is therefore critical. Although cleanrooms are equipped with ventilation, their sealed nature means that a sudden high-concentration gas release could directly harm researchers or cleanroom workers — and a gas-related fire or explosion could cause significant damage to the facility.

The FIX800 multi-gas detector is capable of measuring all essential gases required under the Occupational Safety and Health Act — O₂ (oxygen), CO (carbon monoxide), H₂S (hydrogen sulfide), LEL (combustible gas), and CO₂ (carbon dioxide) — in a single unit. Whereas multiple separate detectors were previously required for two or more gas types, the FIX800 can measure up to 4 to 5 gases simultaneously with a single device, making it an exceptionally cost-effective solution.

At this site, O₂ / CO / H₂S / LEL multi-gas detectors were installed in each cleanroom. Multi-gas detectors are typically mounted at approximately breathing height for an average adult. After installation, on-site functional testing was conducted using calibration span gas to verify proper operation in simulated leak conditions.

A total of 4 gas detectors were installed. The gas concentration readings from each unit are accessible via a display panel at the entrance, providing integrated real-time monitoring. The display panel is connected by wired communication and shows live concentration values. At normal levels, the display shows green LED; at hazardous concentrations, it switches to red LED — allowing anyone to check internal conditions before entering.
